Does This Count As A Mission Statement?

Never Turn Down Ice Cream

I love this website.  I love the blog, the radio show, the whole deal.

But I think I love it a little too much, and for the wrong reasons.  What does this mean, you ask?  I can get too focused on the process…the ‘business’ side of it.

You know, getting more readers, listeners, and all that.  I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to read the blog.

That’s kind of the point.  But, it shouldn’t matter how many Twitter followers I have or how many people read on my site.  One person should be enough.

However, what should people get from reading my blog?  I want them to see the love of God.  At least, that’s what the blog should be about.  Not making myself famous.

It’s a problem I have with a lot of Christian musicians.   I love Christian music: Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Tenth Avenue North, and more.  But, I feel like they get too focused on merchandise and what not.

I know that, for me, being like that would not be right.  I’m not trying to bash the bands, I’m just saying how feel about it.

I pray that my focus would change.

I pray that someone grows closer to God through reading this blog or listening to the radio show.

I pray that God would be honored.

That’s all that matters.
